The Technical Management department operates around 400 Linux servers, which form the backbone of the digital infrastructure. However, the previous manual operation had reached its limits—mainly due to the heterogeneous landscape of Debian, Ubuntu, and Oracle Linux. Classic open-source solutions such as Foreman or Katello did not offer support for Oracle databases.
“I’ve been using Foreman for many years,” says Onno Siebrecht, Technical Manager at WERTGARANTIE. “But we reached our limits in our Oracle Linux environment. orcharhino was the logical choice for us—a solution that supports both Debian and Oracle Linux equally well.”
With orcharhino, WERTGARANTIE found a platform that combines technical flexibility with regulatory security. The system for server automation, patch, and lifecycle management bundles all repository and update management on a central, on-premises interface.
Security updates are distributed automatically, bandwidth is conserved, and system statuses are documented transparently—making the audit and reporting process much easier. Thanks to integrated authorization management, even employees without direct system responsibility can view package statuses—a decisive contribution to auditability in accordance with ISO 27001.
